With this weekend’s “Double Elixir Challenge” in full flow, a lot of people have been having fun with decks they wouldn’t usually dare to use. One such deck is a play on the popular “Spawner deck”. Instead of having a couple of the usual spawner buildings, this deck contains every single one of them as well as the mirror just so you can put down as many buildings as possible.

Ridiculous I hear you cry? Yes – just a little bit but for any deck that doesn’t contain Lightning (most decks at the moment… ), this deck might just have what it takes to get you the wins. And if not… well it’s pretty entertaining to play. Just have a look here:

Strategy:

So what buildings does this deck use?

• Barbarian Hut
• Goblin Hut
• Tombstone
• Furnace
• Mirror (for any of the above.)

The trick to this deck is to simply try and overwhelm the enemy troops by piling up buildings down one side until they can no longer cope. Don’t worry too much about the opposite tower if they get it down because as long as you keep one lane safe, you should be able to push for the 3 stars and with the extra added time (3 minutes) – you’ve got a whopping 6 minutes to get them provided you can at least keep the scores level.

If we were to take a deeper look at the make-up of this deck, like with any spawner deck there are a couple of important elements. Goblin and Barbarian huts are the most important buildings – they complement each other beautifully due to the anti-air of the Spear Goblins and the anti-ground of the barbs. If you have the barbs tanking out in front then the Spear Goblins have all day to keep up their DPS. Of course, a counter to this is the log but as with all ground units, there isn’t much you can do about this.

The Tombstone serves to simply help add pressure and take a few hits. It’s also great in defense against units such as an enemy hog. If you are beginning to overwhelm the enemy and win that “middle ground” the fast release of skeletons from the tombstone will help with the battle.

The furnace serves a few purposes – great defensively, especially against air, it ensures that your buildings survive for maximum health. If left untouched they also do huge damage on enemy buildings so having multiple furnaces up can be a huge help.

Using the Mirror:

The Mirror can be used on whatever you like. Ideally, you’d probably want to use it on the Goblin hut just to help build up the pressure but use it as an when you see a need. It’s a utility card here and fairly pointless but I just through it in to try and get as many buildings down as possible which I managed often running out of space to place them.

Counters:

It’s worth remember that this is just a FUN deck to play with. I’m almost tempted to put a tag on it saying “Do not try this at home” just because Lightning is so popular at the moment and it really, really, reallyyy counters this deck. Likewise the Fireball isn’t great either – anything that does damage to your buildings is fairly nasty but most of them survivable with the exception of Lightning. I think I probably won about 2 out of 10 decks I faced which used Lightning, but for decks that didn’t it was about 80% win rate.

Another slight counter would be other proper building decks that aren’t just looking to create mass buildings – if played properly; they should be able to beat you.

Finally, the Princess can be very nasty indeed against this deck – I ended up taking arrows instead of zap just so I could deal with here if needs be. She does a lot of damage to the troops from a safe distance so best to get rid of her as soon as you see her.
