Stunning Royal Giant Deck – Get to 4000+ without Legendary Card!
Hello guys, in this Clash Royale Guide, I am going to show you a very easy to use Free-to-play deck, which got me to 4000 trophies. Although this deck uses 2 Epic cards but they are all the very popular ones, the Lightning and Skeleton Army.
I recently wrote an article here on how to get to 3000 trophies with no legendaries. The deck itself propelled me forward to about 3700 but struggled much further due to a lack of defensive buildings and recent Giant nerfs. I went back to the drawing boards and starting looking at the current top 100 players and what kind of decks seemed to be catapulting people up that high. I tried to look for decks that didn’t have completely maxed out cards, which was difficult to find up there.
Best Royal Giant F2P Deck
One deck I came across was this Royal Giant, Fire Spirit, Log combo deck which seemed to be really popular and fairly easy to use – especially against current metas (Hogs and Royal Giants). I’ve been playing with this deck for about a week now and it has very quickly catapulted me past 4000 trophies. I’ve recorded the last 3 battles before I got to 4000 to try and illustrate how to most effectively use this combination. The results of video can be seen here – there is some great footage against RGs, hogs and all manner of nasty troops to play against and hopefully this army can help you guys get to 4000 as well.
This deck certainly makes use of the current meta. It involves several of the top performing cards currently in a game and they all work together very nicely. Let’s take a closer look at what cards are used:
Royal Giant: We all know what this bad boy does – remember, the key to winning is to spam this down (not at the cost of defense) as often as possible. Sometimes if you find yourself under a lot of pressure, people stop putting the Royal Giant down because of the high Elixir cost, but remember, it will cause them to spend on defense as well so it’s good to get this down as often as safely possible.
Furnace: An absolutely key defensive unit within this game. You will see in the video replays, several occasions where the Furnace Spirits take out mass Minion armies allowing for a huge Elixir gain. Likewise combined with log and Fire Spirits, they will also take out Barbarians – the most commonly used defense against Royal Giants. The building itself is very useful to put down against Hogs or incoming ranged attacks. It can tank a few hits allowing for time to get down extra units.
Fire Spirits: Just like the furnace these units are incredibly useful defensively, doing great damage to almost any incoming unit – especially air. They also do a decent amount of chip damage on enemy buildings if you get a chance to use them. You will want to take a look at here to read more about the best tips on using Fire Spirits!
Skeleton Army: Another unit in the current meta. Now whilst the Skeleton Army will often be left useless due to enemy Zaps – with the amount of Fire Spirits being churned out you can often find that the enemy has used your zap on something else allowing you to get the Skeleton Army off and onto the enemy tower. An example of this is in the first clip in the video. Once they are on the tower they do devastating damage. The Skeleton Army is also used defensively against Giants, Royal Giants and Hogs – it’s extremely effective and taking down those dangerous units quickly, all for a very small amount of Elixir.
Zap / Log (if you want to use legendary): We all know what the zap and log does – it saves lives. Remember to use The Log at the best possible opportunity when as many troops as possible are in their way. If you can, get it to hit the enemy tower as well for a small amount of damage.
Archers: Now you might wonder why we use Archers instead of the Princess. Very simply, the DPS from Archers is much higher than the Princess and they also carry more life. The range is less but placed behind other defensive troops you’ll find them more useful. Also – they are an excellent defense (if you get them down quick enough) against Graveyard which is very common in the metas above 4000 trophies.
Mega Minion: As of today the mega Minion has been nerfed but it is still an incredibly strong unit. Take an equivalent hard hitting unit – the Musketeer. The Musketeer costs one Elixir more; it hits less hard and has less life even after the Mega Minion nerf! What’s not to love?! This card has been so common in metas at every level that I’d go as far as to say it definitely needed a nerf, but even with the nerf it’s one hell of a card to have in your deck!
Lightning: Our big nasty spell. This spell needs to be used carefully – it’s also very popular right now for all sorts of reasons. Firstly, the lightning squishes medium sized troops that might build up against your Royal Giant – secondly it can do very decent damage to an enemy tower whilst simultaneously squishing troops and third, it also helps squish defensive buildings.
Top Tip: If you are playing against an enemy with Inferno Tower – play your Royal Giant from the back and gather enough Elixir to play your lightening over the enemy tower and the Inferno Tower as soon as he puts it down. You’ll then easily take down the Inferno and get some decent shots off against the tower too.
