Hi guys RSivak here! I’m going to show you guys a cool new Lava Hound deck. I climbed from the 2500s to 3000 trophies using this deck as a level 9! This deck can help you consistently take 3 crowns perfect for Crown Chests in higher arenas. Without further ado, lets get into it!

Lava Hound Deck for Arena 8+

Lava Hound – This is your tank card taking damage while your small melee units do the damage needed to wipe out towers. The key is to use this card at full elixir from the back building up a formidable push by the time the Hound reaches the bridge.

Fire Spirits – Such a strong versatile card for 2 elixir capable of dealing with Minion Hordes or dealing hundreds of damage to a tower if ignored. Perfect for wiping out any melee troops sent in to counter your Lava Hound. Take a look at here to see the best ways to use Fire Spirit!

Mini P.E.K.K.A – Such a strong card, usually used to defend against Hog Rider, Giant, Golem and Royal Giant. After killing them it can push a tower and bring it down thousands of hit points. When pushing with the Lava Hound, I recommend placing this under the Hound perfect for ambushing Inferno Towers, Musketeers, Ice Wizards and other ground troops that can harass the Lava Hound.

Ice Spirit – One of the most overused and for good reason, capable of stopping an enemy push to give you more time or freezing the tower to finish it off, perfect and cheap. In a pinch can halt Minion Hordes to give you time, or freeze a Miner from chipping away at your tower or Elixir Collector.

Zap – Overall powerful card, reset Inferno Tower charge, allow the tower to one shot Minions, can finish off a severely weakened tower if needed. This card is a must to make sure your Hound makes it to the tower.

Elixir Collector – The biggest staple of this deck, this deck relies on throwing massive amounts of troops at the enemy and overwhelming them from the start, the key to doing this is placing Collectors, keeps you at a strong advantage throughout the game if they ignore it, if they send a Miner use Ice Spirit to minimize damage, and if you know they have Miner place it in between the two Arena Towers.

Spear Goblins – Perfect in a pinch with dealing small chip damage or killing zapped Minions protected from Arena Tower damage by a miner. Hefty damage if not targeted, allowing them to chip away hundreds of damage.

Mega Minion – Deals a ton of damage and can be perfect for a defense against most support troops, capable of killing same level troops like Musketeer, and Witch without assistance, while able to deal tons of damage to the tower, also used to tank for the Lava Pups when the Hound explodes allowing the Pups to deal hundreds of damage to the tower.

General GamePlan

You want to stay pumped and try to avoid using the Lava Hound before Double Elixir, that is when this deck can really shine allowing you to throw swarms upon swarms at the enemy completely negating their elixir and pushing hard enough to 3 Crown them within your first push. If your Elixir Collector is not in your starting hand and your Hound is start a Hound in the back and test how they defend. If they use Inferno Tower you can prepare for it with the Mini P.E.K.K.A and Zap. If they defend with Minion Horde you know that Fire Spirits will be needed to accomplish your push, if they defend with Musketeers, Ice Wizards and such then back up the Hound with Mega Minion and Mini P.E.K.K.A to wipe out those cards. This deck is a fast cycle deck, I have been able to get 2 Lava Hounds easily in Double Elixir if I stay pumped. But never place the second Hound unless you have good support for the first one, such as Spear Goblins, Mega Minion, and Mini P.E.K.K.A. Once you have all this and you drop a second Lava Hound your opponent should be bone dry in elixir and unable to cope up with the massive push you would be building.

Best Push – Lava Hound, Mega Minion, Mini P.E.K.K.A, Spear Goblins, Ice Spirit and Fire Spirits, this push will almost certainly knock out a tower, if they place an Inferno Tower, wait 2 seconds and then zap it allowing your swarm troops to demolish the Inferno Tower while keeping your Hound alive.

Simple Push – Lava Hound with Mega Minion and Fire Spirits, a very deadly push that can counter the opponents Minion Horde for a positive elixir trade that would make Yarn proud. Not recommended if you know they have an Inferno Tower.

Counters:

The biggest problem you will face with this deck is people using Rocket, Lightning, or Fireball on your Elixir Collector. If they do this then pumping up will be pointless as they will just keep destroying it, in this situation your best bet is to start doing Lava Hound pushes with good support get to their Tower and keep the pressure on them.

Another issue you might encounter are Wizards which can dish a lot of splash damage to your troops, don’t panic just take out the Wizard with a Mini P.E.K.K.A which will shut down any other melee troops on the ground.

Tips:

• Don’t let your opponent build a big push, lacking a defense can be crippling if you let them get the upper hand.
• Test the waters at the beginning of the game with a simple push see how they defend and change your next push to suit their counters.
• Don’t panic if they take a tower within the first 2 minutes of the game, this deck shines on comebacks. I have lost towers withing the first 30 seconds and I would eventually 3 Crown the opponent later on.
• This is a great Tournament deck as long as you have Tournament Standard level cards.
