Hello my friends, today I am going to show you one of the best Mortar decks I have seen in the current meta game. If you are getting sick of Giant, Hog Rider and Royal Giant, give this awesome one a try!
Solid Mortar Deck
Mortar is obviously the main win condition of this deck. Try to not over-commit on protecting it If your when your opponent is trying to take it down. It’s better to just cycle through the deck and get it again later. For example, If your opponent drops down the Hog Rider to deal with your Mortar, it’s better to do nothing. The Mortar still can do a few hits before getting destroyed and give you a good trade. Anyway, If your opponent uses small troops to take out the Mortar, it’s always a good idea to protect it with either Ice Spirit or Fire Spirits.
Mini P.E.K.K.A: In this deck, she is mainly used to defend. Remember, she is not the main win condition of this deck so don’t be tempted to send the push of Mini P.E.K.K.A + Spirits + Zap. Just cycle back to the Mortar by dropping either Fire Spirits or Ice Spirit down. Anyway, If you successfully defend the Mortar and Mini P.E.K.K.A still has good HP, couple her with Fire Spirits for a counter push. Mini P.E.K.K.A is excellent at dealing with Miner, Hog Rider, Giant, Golem, Royal Giant, Sparky… She is the best tank killer at the moment!
Guards can easily down with tons of threats, especially support troops coming after a tank, giving the Inferno Tower more time to deal with tankers. Guards can deal pretty nice DPS so you can couple them with Ice Spirit in the worst case to deal with Hog Rider. Guards are excellent at dealing with Sparky. Zap the Sparky first then use Guards. If you don’t have Zap in your hand, drop them down to soak 2 hit from the Sparky while Mini P.E.K.K.A is working on the other side of the Sparky.
Inferno Tower: Excellent at dealing with any tanker, both air and ground. This is definitely the best defensive building at the moment, when Giant Decks are rocking.
Ice Spirit: Always try to place it down with the mortar. Ice Spirit is excellent for only 1 Elixir. It freezes everything for 2 seconds, gives you enough time to react, gives the Inferno Tower enough time to shred “a few” tankers in seconds. Ice Spirit is the key which helps you deal with Giant Balloon, P.E.K.K.A Double Prince, Hog Rider… One of the best cards at the moment, hands down.
Fire Spirits are just so good. They can easily clear out swarms instantly, making the Motart lock onto the Tower. Also good when coupled with Mini P.E.K.K.A on the counterpush. Please take a look at here to read everything about the Fire Spirits.
Zap: Needless to say! Zap is the best spell in Clash Royale. Excellent at dealing with Goblins, Spirits… Zap resets Sparky, Inferno Tower, Princes, Royal Giant… Zap + Fire Ball is my favorite combo to take out Three Musketeers.
Fireball: Another excellent spell in Clash Royale. Great for defending and finishing off Tower. I use Fireball on defense most of the time when the Fire Spirits are out of rotation. Fireballing Elixir Collector gives the equal trade but I don’t usually do that. I just rush the Mortar combo when I see my opponent placing down the Elixir Collector. Our general gameplan is to drop the Mortar down 1 tile back so It can easily target the opponent’s Tower while still being protected by our Tower. Do your best to counter everything your opponent plays.
I am going to list the most popular counters to the Mortar and the best ways to deal with them here:
- Goblins, Skeletons, Guards: Fire Spirits.
- Minions, Minion Horde: Fire Spirit or Ice Spirit + Zap.
- Barbarians = Zap + Fire Spirits or Fire Spirits only If they took 1 hit from the Mortar.
- Knight, Miner, Prince, Musketeer, Hog Rider = Mini P.E.K.K.A + Guards + Ice Spirit If needed.
- Dark Prince, Valkyrie = Mini P.E.K.K.A + Ice Spirit If needed.
- Cannon = Guards or Mini P.E.K.K.A.
- Bomb Tower = Mini P.E.K.K.A.
- Inferno Tower = Mini P.E.K.K.A + Ice Spirit/Zap If needed.
